Busking on The Drive

Trumpets, trombones, and tap dancing; what a perfect day for some busking! On Tuesday afternoon a coupleĀ pals and I played some tunes on Commercial Drive, jamming a variety New Orleans classicsĀ to modern pop-funk. Caught lots of smiles. So many fun times!

Growing up with his timeless rasp and incomparable 
trumpeting, Louis Armstrong as been a big influence for me. A 
favourite of my Gramma, whenever Hello Dolly comes on, I can't help 
but smile... Louis merits his place in the hearts of so many as a 
jazz king. Not only did he move jazz forward on the trumpet, he was 
also at the forefront of scat singing. Louis was "all that jazz" 
personified.
